Orchard Animals
Glasshouse Orchard is an old apple orchard that has been producing cider apples for many years. It was bought in 1999 to prevent the area being redeveloped and to preserve this excellent wildlife habitat. This website is aimed to provide information to people about Glasshouse Orchard and the importance of preserving diverse habitats for plants and animals including those which are semi-manmade, such as orchards.
Please feel free to contact the Glasshouse Orchard team with any specific questions, or if you wish to undertake further research in this area. Please note however that there are no public rights of way in the orchard, and it is not open to the public in order to preserve the tranquility for wildlife and keep disturbance to a minimum. Visits can be arranged for special purposes by arrangement with the Glasshouse Orchard team.
