Glasshouse Orchard Spring

By mid-February the wild daffodils are to be seen in flower in the more sheltered areas of the orchard and will be at their peak around the first week of April. Some hybrids have been found in recent years and these are being dug up to prevent cross fertilization. Double snowdrops are also found in clumps especially bordering the neighbouring cultivated area. Wood anemones and bluebells grow in the hedgerow where plenty of hazel catkins can be found.
